In Scotland we continue to provide advice and training in social accounting and audit -acting as the Social Audit Network (SAN) in Scotland. SAN has recently published and launched Prove, Improve and Account: The New Guide to Social Accounting and Audit and this has created a lot of further interest in the practice of social accounting. We also work in partnership with the Social Enterprise Academy in delivery of training in social accounting and measuring social impact; and have worked with them and Glasgow Caledonian University in the development of an MSc in Social Enterprise while at the same time helping with the delivery of the PGC in Social Enterprise.
Internationally we continue to support Jagran in Rajasthan, North India, and to facilitate with our partners the Centre for Social Initiative and Management (CSIM) the development of social accounting and audit in India, including the formation of SAN India. Our association with our other partners – HiLDA and READ both in South India has continued and our with COMMACT partners overseas remains as an important element to our international work. In addition the Community Building Ventures (CBV) project continues with Community Campus 87 playing a lead role; and we are organising the start of a social accounting and audit programme in Nepal – working through our Nepalese partners.
In support of all these projects we maintain and have redesigned the CBSN website and continue to distribute our quarterly Newsletter by email to all our members, partners and associates in the UK and overseas
Alongside this, our sister consultancy organisation, Community Business Scotland Network Services Limited, has rebranded as Just the Business and is maintaining its reputation for high quality consultancy work, continuing to provide a large proportion of the core funding needed for our charitable activities.
