Community Building Ventures: Community Building Ventures (CBV) is a partner which plans to offer practical, on the tools, help with building projects in South Indian communities and to facilitate short-term placements of Indian development workers with NGOs in the UK. Work on the first project started on site in March 2007
HiLDA Trust
CBSN has been working with the HiLDA Trust since 1996, supporting its integrated local development work and especially the creation of community enterprises by women’s self-help groups.

READ Centre is our other major partner in South India with whom we have been engaged in a Community Business Development Project and other initiatives.
SINGO FRC
With a grant from the Lloyds TSB Scotland Foundation CBSN has supported the South India NGO Fund-raising Consortium. This brought ten smaller NGOs together and provided resources to identify new sources of finance and make new applications.
Jagran
Jagran Jan Vikas Samiti is an NGO based in Udaipur, Rajasthan which is committed to tackling the disadvantages experienced by tribal people. CBSN has been supporting Jagran’s work with traditional medicine and advocacy for political and human rights
Africa Action Pack
CBSN has been involved with other partners in developing an Action Pack for use by communities in Africa wishing to engage in local, community planning.
SDF Task Force
COMMACT UK co-ordinated a multi-national Task Force to visit and work with the Stutterheim Development Foundation and explore how social enterprise ideas may be relevant in South Africa’s Eastern Cape.
Japan
Since 2000 CBSN has had close links with Kobe University of Commerce and one of CBS Network’s Directors, Alan Kay, has paid regular visits to Japan as part of an exchange programme funded by the Toyota Foundation. This programme finished in 2004 but we continue to host several groups of visitors from Japan.
Social Accounting
Through John Pearce, CBSN has encouraged the use of social accounting and audit in India, New Zealand and Australia, running training workshops and supporting social economy organisations through the social accounting process.
