In October 2004 CBS Network, along with the emerging SSEC, launched the Building the Scottish Social Enterprise Coalition project which was a year long project which finished in October 2005. Emma Hutton was employed as the Development Officer. Emma’s work was to support the SSEC by servicing their meetings as well as bringing the different organisations together on a regular basis. The Scottish Social Enterprise Coalition (SSEC) includes the following members: Community Enterprise in Strathclyde, Community Enterprise Limited; Forth Sector; Employee Ownership Scotland; Scotland UnLtd; Co-operative and Mutual Scotland; Scottish Co-op; CBS Network; Senscot; Social Firms Scotland; Scottish League of Credit Unions; Scottish Federation of Housing Associations; Development Trusts Association Scotland. The SSEC has links with the UK Social Enterprise Coalition and Emma Hutton sits on their Board as the Scottish representative. The Coalition is the future co-ordinating and networking body for the social economy sector in Scotland. The Coalition has secured core funding from Communities Scotland and will be a significant player in this sector over the next few years. The Building of the Scottish Social Enterprise Coalition Project kept social accounts that resulted in an un-audited Social Report.
